Crystal Palace striker Marouane Chamakh has suffered a fresh injury setback.

The Moroccan striker broke down with a knee injury during a run-out in the Under-21s defeat at Colchester last night, says the Daily Star. Chamakh, 32, limped off after an hour and is waiting to learn the full extent of his latest injury blow.

He was hoping to press his claims for a starting spot for Friday's FA Cup quarter-final at Reading.

Chamakh has made just one start this season after a stop-start campaign wrecked by hamstring trouble.
