West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce suffered more injury blows during their Capital One Cup defeat to Manchester City.
Andy Carroll's return to the starting line-up was the good news but Joe Cole limped off shortly after half-time and Mohamed Diame left the field on a stretcher late on.
Allardyce said on Sky Sports 1: "The real killer, even though Andy's come through okay, is the injury to first Joe Cole - which is a groin that shouldn't be too long - but Mo Diame looks very serious.
"On top of what we've already got, it's another blow and what looks a serious injury."
