Former Manchester United trialist Freddy Adu is again on the move.

Adu has failed to get a contract with MLS side Portland Timbers.

Adu, 27, had been on trial with Timbers and played in two friendlies.

But Timbers head coach Caleb Porter told Oregonlive: "Freddy is no longer with us. He had two weeks and we were up front and honest with him about where we're at.

"More than anything, you look at the depth, there's just not going to be a spot."
