Fraser: Bournemouth must overcome Southampton mental block

Ryan Fraser says Bournemouth must get over their mental hurdle to beat local rivals Southampton away from home.

Cherries have beaten their south coast neighbours seven times from 29 meetings, but all of which were at the Vitality Stadium.

Discussing the club's record at St Mary's, Fraser told the Daily Echo: "It's disappointing. The gaffer mentioned it, he was already on to the next game in the changing room (after Everton).

"Now we've got the win under our belt at home, he says we've never really had a good record away and it's time for us to set down a marker that we can go there and turn them over.

"We bring big fans, large numbers and we always seem to go away disappointed. Even at home I think I remember one game that we won, but we've never really dominated them.

"I think we should try and impose ourselves and try and mentally get over that hurdle of going there and trying to win.

"It's one that if we play our best, I can see us winning."
