France coach Didier Deschamps stands by his decision to freeze out Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Despite his form and success with Real, Benzema has not been considered by Deschamps since before the 2016 Euros after becoming embroiled in an alleged blackmail plot.

Deschamps told Le Monde: "I have nothing to say about him. For me, this is no longer a subject.

"This decision of the Court of Cassation does not concern me. This is not my news. I am not in this business.

"When I have a decision to make, whatever it is, I have only one goal: the collective interest of the France team."
