France coach Didier Deschamps was unhappy with the question about Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema's continued absence ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Kazakhstan.

The French national team coach was surprised when Benzema's name was mentioned in the press conference after the 2022 World Cup qualification duel.

"No. Even here?" Deschamps jokingly asked the journalist. "We can finish with the previous question.

"I am sure that someone told you to ask this question, surely a French journalist."

Deschamps avoided to respond to the question and left the room after thanking the journalists.
