France coach Didier Deschamps has defended his selection of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
Giroud scored in the 4-1 Euro qualifying win against Moldova.
And Deschamps says: "He has just emerged from a difficult period. He is a player who has been unfairly decried. The goals, you have to notice them. Even if he did not score during the World Cup, he was decisive too, that's good.
"It is getting closer, with the passing years, of the end. But he's still here. He always has this desire and this freshness. He must keep that."
