France coach Didier Deschamps has left the door open to a shock recall for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Deschamps hasn't considered Benzema since before the 2016 Euros after the player became embroiled in an alleged blackmail plot. Since the investigation, Deschamps has insisted the squad has moved on from the veteran forward.

However yesterday, Les Bleus coach Deschamps said: "If Benzema will be in Russia? I do not know. I will not choose yet. I will choose.

"There are many who will be watching TV. There will be even more who will be in front of their TV rather than with me in Russia, that is certain."
