France coach Didier Deschamps has broken his silence on Patrice Evra's meltdown last week.
Deschamps played the incident with a straight bat after being asked for his opinion after the Marseille fullback attacked an away fan before the Europa League tie with Vitoria.
The Les Bleus coach said of the former Manchester United captain, "I do not have all the elements. I was not there. The club has launched an investigation.
"Patrice does not have to do this gesture. I am not here to judge and I know him well, it is a gesture he must not do. Unfortunately, it happened. There will be the conclusions of the club and UEFA."
Deschamps is a former OM coach and player.
