France manager Didier Deschamps admits he is impressed with Anthony Martial.
The Manchester United man got a chance for his national team when he came on during a 1-0 win over Sweden.
And he may be in line to get a start as France take on Croatia in their next UEFA Nations League match.
It is the teams' first meeting since France won the World Cup final in 2018.
"He's capable of playing in the wing also, but in Manchester he's really a number nine," Deschamps said to reporters of Martial.
"He may not have the typical profile of a centre-forward although he has that versatility there. In recent months he has gained in regularity and constancy."
