Fran Escriba has been named new coach of Celta Vigo.

Escriba replaces Miguel Cardoso after a poor run of results.

After Antonio Mohamed dismissal in November, the Portuguese becomes the second boss of the Galician club to be sacked this campaign.

Celta are currently in a relegation scrap, sitting just one place above the drop zone, two points above Villarreal who are in 18th place.

Cardoso only managed three victories in the 14 matches he was in charge of the club.
