Fortuna Dusseldorf to cut short loan for Chelsea midfielder Baker

Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker faces having his loan with Fortuna Dusseldorf cut short.

After F95 coach Friedhelm Funkel's furious attack on him last week, BILD says there's unlikely to be anyway back for the England U21 international.

Funkel claimed Baker was missing from training last week without permission and also questioned his commitment to his teammates when not featuring on matchday.

He snapped: "He is in London and supposedly sick, I can't check that. Usually he would have been here. I don't know what the reason is that he wasn't here.

"What I know is that Lewis Baker wasn't in the squad against Union Berlin and should have trained with the others at ten in the morning.

"But he just wasn't there during this training session. There was no excuse in advance. When he wasn't playing, he wasn't even in the stadium. All other players who are not part of the squad were there and were happy with the others.

"He was not. That has some meaningfulness..."

It's now being suggested in Germany that F95 will end Baker's loan on orders of a fed-up Funkel.
