Nigel Reo-Coker wants his Vancouver Whitecaps teammates to play with more urgency at the beginning of matches.
The 'Caps conceded two goals at Chivas USA last weekend before a second-half improvement saw them pull one back through Kenny Miller but midfielder Reo-Coker believes there is not enough determination early in their matches.
The former Aston Villa and West Ham United man feels this could help arrest their losing form after two defeats on the trot.
"As a team we just have to make sure we [start strongly]," Reo-Coker said.
"We have to start the game right and start at a high tempo. We've got athleticism in this team. Playing to our strengths, we have to play at a high tempo. That's something we need to do. It's nothing that management can do.
"It's down to us to take the responsibility as players to say we have to start right."
