Martin Jol has been appointed manager of Egyptian club Al-Ahly.
The Dutch tactician has signed an 18-month deal with the Egyptian Premier League outfit who replaces Jose Peseiro who left to take over at Porto last month.
Former Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Hamburg and Ajax boss Jol will be in charge for the first time in the March 5 meeting with Misr El-Maqasha.
Eight-time CAF Champions League and 37-time national league winners Al-Ahly currently sit on top of the Egyptian top flight, three points clear of Zamalek, who this week were taken over by former Aston Vila, Rangers and Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish.
