Former Sydney City player Kershaw joins Buffalo City FC

Former Sydney City player and Football Queensland development officer Alan Kershaw has been appointed to a role with Buffalo City FC.

Kershaw joins Buffalo City, who play in the National Premier Soccer League, as its International Development Coach and Adviser.

The English-born Kershaw begun his playing career with Preston North End in 1969 before moving on to Southport FC, Dundee United, Sydney City and Swedish outfit IFK Malmo.

His coaching career has seen him involved with Preston North End, Everton, Football Queensland and Norwegian club MK Mandal and he is delighted to get an opportunity to now work in the US.

Buffalo coach Mike Share was equally delighted to have Kershaw on board.

"I'm looking forward to working with Alan and know he will be a valued member of the club," Share said.

"Alan has been working with the club for the last couple of months and I am very pleased to have him officially onboard now. Alan will be scouting for players in Europe as well as looking to place our players in Europe, his experience as a coach will be very important to Buffalo's development."
