Former Stoke striker Pericard interesting Carlisle

Carlisle boss Greg Abbott is optimistic Stoke striker Vincent Pericard will agree to join the League One outfit on a short-term deal. Pericard is thought to have agreed a contract which will initially keep him at Brunton Park until early January.

"He is a beast of a man - and he might just be what we are looking for," Abbott told the News & Star.

"He wants to play, he has got proven ability, he likes the way we have done things and there is a chance he will commit to us on a short-term basis."

Cameroon-born Pericard has been without a club since leaving the Potters at the end of last season.
