Former Arsenal striker Jose Antonio Reyes has lost his life in a car crash.
Sevilla posted a brief statement announcing the sad news on Twitter on Saturday.
"We couldn't be confirming worse news," it read.
"Beloved Sevilla star Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a traffic collision. Rest in peace."
Reyes was 35 at the time of his death and most recently played for Spanish side Extremadura.
Reyes began his career at Sevilla having come through the Andalusian giants' youth setup.
He moved to the Premier League with Arsenal in 2004, with Arsene Wenger forking out £17m.
