Former Nuremberg midfielder Vidosic takes out Adelaide United prize

Former FC Nuremberg midfielder Dario Vidosic has been named the Adelaide United Player of the Year for season 2012/13.

The 26-year old attacking midfielder edged out Marcelo Carrusca to be crowned the Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion Award for the Reds' eighth season of the A-League.

"It is a great honour and overwhelming to win this award," Vidosic said.

"At the end of the day you always look at the season from a team perspective, and not being able to hold up a trophy at the end of it is disappointing, but to be acknowledged on an individual note and winning an award that is named after Aurelio Vidmar who is a legend of the club, it means a lot."

Ex-Duisburg and Arminia Bielefeld loanee Vidosic, who joined Adelaide from Nuremberg in July 2011 scored nine goals and provided six assists to help take out the award.
