New York Red Bulls are likely to have the services of striker Luke Rodgers for next week's trip to FC Dallas.
The 29-year old Englishman has been sidelined with a foot injury for the best part of two months but is close to a return with this weekend's clash with Vancouver Whitecaps coming too quickly.
Former Notts County man Rodgers, who admits the problem has frustrated him, says he is keen to contribute to the Red Bulls' play-off hopes in the final month or so of the MLS regular season.
"Obviously I feel like I'm a little bit frustrated, because I missed a big part of the season. I missed two months now,'' said Rodgers.
"But it's the most important part of the season now, seven games left (after Saturday) and obviously more if we make the playoffs. I really want to come in, do well give team an extra push, try and help us get the playoffs. I think we need it.
"I just want get back playing. I've been out this long; I just want to get back playing. We need to win. It'd be nice to come out and score the winner."
