Former Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark has former a glowing appraisal of talented striker Adam Armstrong.
The 18-year-old youth academy product has kicked off his loan spell at Coventry City by firing four goals in two matches which has certainly not been lost on Clark.
England U18 international Armstrong was a target for Clark when he managed both Birmingham City and Blackpool so the ex-Toon star is no stranger to how the Magpies young gun is performing in England's third division.
"Adam has gone out to get experience and at this moment in time it looks like the perfect decision because he's gone into League One and blown it apart," Clark told the Chronicle.
"He's a player who was on my radar at both Birmingham and Blackpool.
"Unfortunately at the time he wasn't allowed out on loan the club didn't have the numbers."
