Mark McGhee could be appointed as Scotland assistant manager by new boss Gordon Strachan.
The 55-year old former Reading, Millwall and Motherwell boss has been out of work since he was sacked by Bristol Rovers in December last year but could become Strachan's number two according to SunSport.
McGhee, who has also managed Leicester City, Wolves, Brighton and Aberdeen, is in the running for the assistant vacancy alongside former Liverpool and Leeds United midfielder Gary McAllister.
