A group of five former Manchester United stars have agreed to buy into lower league team Salford City FC.
It has been confirmed that Phil and Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt will acquire the non-league club who play in the Northern Premier League.
The quintet have held negotiations with Salford for the past month and are now awaiting approval from the Football Association and the league.
"Salford is close to all their hearts. Manchester United nurtured and developed them but Salford is where it all began so, when the opportunity arose to acquire Salford City FC, it was one they all wished to pursue," read a statement released on behalf of the 'Class of 92'.
"They want to put back into the community of Salford and surrounding areas, they want to develop and engage especially at grass roots level."
