Former Man Utd midfielder Djemba-Djemba eyes Cameroon recall

Eric Djemba-Djemba is looking to force his way back into the Cameroon setup now he has joined St Mirren.

The 32-year old former Nantes, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Odense midfielder has linked up with the Buddies for the rest of the Scottish Premier League season and is now hoping to win a surprise call-up for the 2014 World Cup.

"Why not? I just need to be good on the pitch, enjoy myself, play well with my new teammates and I hope the manager of Cameroon (Volker Finke) will think about me," he said.

"You know in Cameroon we change managers like we change shirts. I hope he will think about me if he needs my experience.

"I played in the team for eight and a half years from 2001. So if he needs me I will be happy to pull on the Cameroon shirt, because it's a dream for everyone. I hope he will think about it.

"But the decision is in my hands - to work, play and try to be called up for the World Cup."
