Former Liverpool, West Ham defender Song quits Cameroon

Former Liverpool and West Ham United defender Rigobert Song has pulled the pin on his international career with Cameroon.

The 34-year old retires as the most capped player in Cameroon football history and appeared in four World Cups and eight African Cup of Nations.

Song steps out of the international game with plenty of pride after leading the Indomitable Lions as captain for much of his time with the team.

"Men pass, the country remains," Song said.

"You have to quit things when you have to. I leave this team with pride and I think I have accomplished a duty."
