Rigobert Song's condition has improved after he suffered a stroke on Sunday.
The 40-year-old Cameroon great was rushed to hospital in Yaounde having been struck down by a brain aneurysm, and was believed to be fighting for his life.
However, more recent reports indicate that the former Liverpool and West Ham United defender is now out of a coma and will be moved to France to receive more specialised care.
Chad national team coach Song, who is the uncle of of ex-Arsenal, West Ham and Barcelona midfielder Alex, also played for French club Metz, Italy's Salernitana, Germany's FC Koln, and Turkish pair Galatasaray and Trabzonspor during his career.
