Former Liverpool and Tottenham striker Robbie Keane has announced his retirement.
The 38-year-old confirmed the decision on Wednesday after being appointed assistant coach to new Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy last week.
Keane joined Liverpool from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2008 and scored seven goals in his 28 appearances under Rafael Benitez.
Having previously also represented Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Inter Milan and Leeds United, he later played for Celtic, West Ham United, Los Angeles Galaxy, Aston Villa and ATK.
Keane is Republic of Ireland's all-time record goalscorer with 68.
