Former Inter Milan president Moratti: I regret not signing Hamsik

Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admits he wanted to sign Napoli hero Marek Hamsik while in charge of the Nerazzurri.

Hamsik has just joined IFK Goteborg in Sweden in a surprise move,

Moratti recalled: "I wanted to sign Marek Hamsik and I called De Laurentiis, but he replied he didn't want to sell him.

“It was our mistake not to sign him from Brescia when we could. (Ezequiel) Lavezzi was another excellent footballer.

“At that time, there wasn't too much difference between the clubs so everyone could sign players to keep the championship balanced."
