Former Hearts winger Driver on verge of full Houston Dynamo fitness

Houston Dynamo are set to receive a boost just a few games out form the 2013 MLS playoffs.

English winger Andrew Driver, who had been sidelined with a calf injury since early September, returned with a brief stint in last week's win over Montreal Impact and is now feeling good about his fitness ahead of Wednesday's meeting with Sporting Kansas City and the upcoming post-season series.

"It's been a bit of a nightmare coming down to the business end of the season and missing some of these games," said Driver who joined the Dynamo permanently from Scottish club Heart of Midlothian earlier this year after a successful loan spell.

"These are the games as a player you want to be involved. I'm just happy to be back and ready to contribute to the team the rest of the season."

He added: "I think that's been the case in the past where I've been overeager and wanted to get back too fast.

"You don't lose it overnight. I've been involved for like four days where everything's been good and sharp so you get it back pretty quickly. I'll give it my all and give it my 100 percent. If I do contribute and play well that's good for us."
