Former Bolton youth Mooy leaves Western Sydney for Melbourne Heart

Melbourne Heart have confirmed the signing of midfielder Aaron Mooy on a two-year deal.

The 23-year old has joined the Heart from A-League rivals Western Sydney Wanderers following two successful seasons in New South Wales.

Heart boss John van 't Schip was delighted to have snared the former Bolton Wanderers youth who returned to Australia in 2012 following a stint in Scotland with St Mirren.

"Everyone who follows the A-League knows of Aaron's quality," van' t Schip said. "For us he can be a player who can dictate the style of football we want to play.

"He is one of the best young Australian players so we are delighted to have captured his signature. It shows the Club's ambition to win trophies and play football a certain way."

During his two seasons with the Wanderers, Mooy scored four goals in 49 A-League appearances while also featuring five times in the 2014 AFC Asian Champions League campaign.
