Former Arsenal midfielder Denilson starts stint in Malta

Former Arsenal midfielder Denilson is now plying his trade in Malta.

The central midfielder has not been with the Gunners since 2013, and he has suffered knee injuries for most of his career.

A once promising career did not pan out as most expected for the Brazilian.

And Times of Malta claims Sliema Wanderers president Keith Perry stated his club is signing the 32-year-old on a single year deal.

Sliema is the most successful team in Malta, and the move may give Denilson a chance to show he still has what it takes in a less competitive league.

The club is coached by former Brentford defender John Buttigieg.
