Former Arsenal star and Brazil international Andres Santos has been suspended for 30 days after testing positive for a banned drug.
The 32-year old Botafogo (SP) full-back was found to have banned substance Hydrochlorothiazide in his system when failing a recent drug test.
Hydrochlorothiazide is not a performance-enhancing drug but is designed to flush water out of your system more quickly and can be used to mask the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
ESPN Brazil reports that Santos was initially found to have the diuretic in February and was handed the ban by the Sports Justice Tribunal of Sao Paulo after his B sample was also found positive last month.
