Aron Johannsson got off the mark for new club Werder Bremen on the weekend.
The 24-year-old USA international opened his account in Germany by converting from the penalty spot in the 39th minute of his side's 2-1 home victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.
After the victory, the former Aarhus and AZ Alkmaar star spoke of his delight at playing for such a club who he plans to experience success with in his debut campaign in the Bundesliga.
"It's hard to describe [what it's like playing for Bremen] but it's a very special feeling, especially coming out in front of 42,000 fans who are all signing and the stadium is rocking the whole time," said Johannsson.
"It's a very nice feeling. I wanted to take the penalty. I've taken a lot of them before and done well, although I've also missed a few.
"That gives you experience and I was confident in myself. I think the partnership with Anthony Ujah is going well but of course it can go better. We've only played together for a couple of games and it takes time to perfect a partnership but we're clicking well."
