Former Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes in frame for Sheffield Utd job

Former Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is being linked with the Sheffield United job.

The Examiner says McInnes is the latest name to be linked with the Sheffield United manager's job.

The 49-year-old recently left Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen after eight years and reports north of the border are claiming he is one of the options on a shortlist being drawn up by the club.

McInnes had a 53% win ratio at Pittodrie and also had a two-year spell at Bristol City.

So far a host of names have been linked, including sacked Celtic manager Neil Lennon, Lincoln boss Michael Appleton and former Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall, who has been brought in until the end of the season to assist Paul Heckingbottom.

The bookies have also added Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard and Slaven Bilic to the list of contenders in the wake of Chris Wilder's exit last week.
