After finding himself an outcast under Mark Hughes at Stoke City this season, veteran forward Peter Odemwingie opted to go out in loan in search of first team football at Bristol City.
The Nigerian striker marked his home debut with a goal in a 6-0 thrashing as the Robins look to secure safety in the Championship under new manager Lee Johnson.
Odemwingie showed his Premier League class with a fine left-footed finish into the bottom corner, following a composed turn on the edge of the area, to make it 2-0 to Bristol in the 53rd minute.
Odemwingie is on loan with the Robins until the end of the season and with Bristol just six points above the drop zone, his experience of top flight football and ability to find the back of the net will be crucial in ensuring they do not go straight back down to League One after last season's title win.
The 34-year-old will also be keen to impress potential suitors and if he sets Ashton Gate alight during the eight remaining fixtures season, Johnson may be tempted to bring the vastly travelled forward to the club permanently in the summer.
Back to back wins. A goal on a home debut. Six different scorers. Clean sheet. A day to remember for @bcfctweets fans for sure !
