The Football League have revealed that they have yet to approve the takeover of Leicester. The npower Championship club announced on August 12 that they had been bought out by the Asia Football Investments Consortium led by Thai businessman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn.
"Some good, helpful information has been provided," a spokesman told the Guardian. "But there is still more to come. The takeover has not been approved."
Boss Paulo Sousa had earlier publicly declared that the new owners had promised funds would be made available to him.
Leicester had also revealed at the time of the sale that Milan Mandaric, their former owner, would remain as chairman, but the League say nothing has been concluded because they have not received the full details of the deal.
