Football Federation Australia is searching the country for the Team of the Year in the inaugural Australian Football Awards. FFA recently launched the Australian Football Awards to bring the football family together recognising professional players along with teams, volunteers, coaches and referees at a non professional level.
"Voting for Team of the Year is now open and we want to hear from you," said FFA CEO Ben Buckley.
"If you think your team has what it takes, we are encouraging the 970,000 Australians who play football to nominate their team, or another team they think is deserving of the honour.
"Even if you don't play football you may be one of the 120,000 'mums and dads' who volunteer in some capacity to work in football clubs and may know a great team to nominate.
"It doesn't matter if you're an Under 6 team, or an Over 50s Masters team, if your team deserves to be known as the team of the year, we want to hear from you."
