Foden the difference as Man City defeat Brighton to continue unbeaten run

Phil Foden continued his excellent form by scoring the winner for Manchester City in Wednesday's clash with Brighton.

The 20-year-old collected a pass from Kevin De Bruyne before finishing cooly just a minute before half-time.

City had multiple chances to extend their lead, the most obvious of which was Raheem Sterling's botched injury-time penalty.

The result means Pep Guardiola's side have gone 14 matches without a loss, taking them to third on the Premier League table.

More importantly for City, with a title bid in mind, is their impressive defensive record across that span.

The Sky Blues have conceded just three goals in the last fourteen games and have won their last seven straight across league and cup.

For Brighton, the loss leaves teetering above the drop zone with a three point buffer from 18th-placed Fulham.
