Fluminense striker Joao Pedro packs bags for Watford

Fluminense striker Joao Pedro is on his way to England ahead of formally joining Watford next month.

Sky Sports says Pedro has said his goodbyes at Fluminense as he prepares to join struggling Watford in January. The teenager will complete a move 14 months in the making in the New Year after the Hornets confirmed he would join in the next transfer window after his 18 birthday.

That came in late September – and since the October 2018 announcement has scored four goals in 24 Brazilian top-flight appearances in his breakthrough season.

Pedro said his goodbyes to his boyhood club via Instagram, stating. “It's time for farewell. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank Fluminense football club immensely for having formed me as a man and as a professional athlete."
