Fluminense president wants to review Watford deal for Joao Pedro

Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt is asking for a review of the transfer of Joao Pedro to Watford.

The new president has taken charge at the Brazilian club, while he is hoping to review the transfer agreement to see if they can hold onto the player for a little longer.

Fluminense agreed to sell Pedro with the condition he remains with the club until he turns 18. As it stands, he would move to Watford in the January transfer window.

Speaking to the Brazilian press, Bittencourt said: "His sale has messed with us all, not just for the sale, but the way the sale was made.

"There is no criticism about the suitability of the sale, which was made without any kind of problem.

"The point is that the club could have tried another way, another solution, before raffling such a talented player for such a low value.

"I'm going to see the contract. Let's see if there is a possibility to make him stay longer."
