Fluminense are launching a move for Chelsea defender Thiago Silva.

Local journalist José Fernandez is reporting Fluminense are interested in the 38-year-old player.

Flu are eager to sign a defender for next season and they plan to soon discuss a possible move for Silva with Chelsea management.

The player's deal with Chelsea expires in the summer of 2024. The defender has made 28 appearances this season, scoring two assists.

Flu would insist on Chelsea granting a free transfer to the veteran.
