Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ordered GM Jorge Valdano to accelerate their player sale plans.

El Mundo Deportivo says Perez sees several senior players as dead wood and wants them dumped during the January market.

Valdano has been ordered to find buyers for Mahmadou Diarra, Fernando Gago, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jerzy Dudek, Royston Drenthe and Christophe Metzelder.

He also wouldn't be against losing Raul and Guti, though any public push to sell the Real captain would be met by furious supporter protests.
