Darren Fletcher is urging West Bromwich Albion to push the boat out and make a big name signing.
The skipper has given his backing to boss Tony Pulis' summer shake-up, which began in earnest after Sunday's final game of the season with the release of Youssouf Mulumbu, Chris Baird and Jason Davidson.
The 31-year-old said: "I experienced it at Manchester United and a big signing lifts everyone. You have someone new to impress and all those little factors benefit a club.
"You don't want to stand still. I know the saying 'if it's not broken don't fix it' but sometimes if you stand still you end up going backwards and there are a lot of teams who are going to look to improve.
"I think we should always look to go forwards as a team and as individuals but I trust the manager totally."
