Manchester United are set to sign Stoke youngster Nathan Collins.

The 18-year-old broke into the first-team towards the end of this season and has impressed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Sun claims Solskjaer was tipped off about Collins by former United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

Solskjaer is on the lookout for rising stars to add to his squad, having all but secured a deal for 21-year-old Swansea winger Daniel James.

Fletcher, who has held talks with United over becoming their technical director, watched Collins closely during his time at bet365 stadium and believes the Republic of Ireland youth international has huge potential.
