Fletcher: James now Man Utd's main inspiration

Former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is full of praise for Daniel James.

James was outstanding for the 3-3 draw at Sheffield United on Sunday.

"I think at this point in the game Dan James just decided to get my head down and run down the line. Puts a ball into the box and you can see the bodies in the box, and that is the young left back there, and what a fantastic finish that is," Fletcher said on BBC's Match of the Day 2.

"United just went for it. That got them back into the game. That goal gave them belief and from there their performance was fantastic. Here we see Dan James on the left puts a great ball into the box, but not as many numbers in there that time.

"We see the ball getting recycled and this is a fantastic cross. Mason Greenwood is in his more natural position as a striker. Great ball into the box and a fantastic finish.

"From that point on, I did feel United would go on and get the next goal, which I thought would be the winning goal, but ultimately it proved not to be.

"He was involved with all three. This is great football. Pace, power, everything. Great pace and the cut-back here is fantastic. He actually bounces it back over the defenders leg and Marcus Rashford is there again. Seven minutes, three goals, Manchester United found themselves in the winning position."
