Flanagan insists 'knee is perfect' as he strives for big season with Liverpool

Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan has revealed that he has managed to fully recover from his knee problems.

Flanagan's progress has been ravaged with a number of excruciating knee injuries over the past few years and as a result, the defender has not been able to earn regular first team football at Anfield in recent times.

Given his struggles, there are understandably a few concerns regarding Flanagan's knee but the fit-again 23-year-old has gone on to state that he has managed to fully overcome those fitness problems and is now looking forward to a productive Premier League campaign.

The young defender told the Liverpool Echo: "It was great to get back in the second half of last season but I wasn't 100% match fit after so long out.

"Although it was frustrating for me not to be in the squad on matchdays towards the end of last season, looking back now maybe it was the right decision. Now I feel great and things are going well.

"The knee is perfect. I haven't missed a single session so far and it's all good. Hopefully it carries on like that."
