Flamengo youngster Reinier on brink of signing for Real Madrid

Flamengo youngster Reinier is on the brink of signing for Real Madrid.

Marca says an agreement between Los Blancos and Flamengo was reached a month ago, and the only thing missing was for the player to reach 18 years old before he could officially make the switch to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The transfer of the young prospect to Real Madrid is expected to be announced imminently, with Los Blancos likely to wait until Brazil's U23 team finish their match against Peru before going public, so as not to distract Reinier on international duty.

The transfer fee will be €30m, of which 80 percent will go to the Brazilian club, 10 percent to Reinier's agent and the remaining 10 percent for the player himself, who will sign a six-year deal.

Reinier will link up with Real Madrid's squad as soon as this tournament ends, and will likely train with the first team under Zinedine Zidane, but get game time for Castilla under the stewardship of Raul, following in the footsteps of both Vinicius and Rodrygo.
