Flamengo star Adriano is grateful to Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho over the way he tried to convince his board to keep hold of the Brazilian last year.
Adriano said: "I thought I had overcome my problems, but I returned to being like I was before only without anyone on which I could rely upon so I started to drink again. I came back for Mourinho but it wasn't sufficient. I started all over again with the parties, the women and the alcohol.
"The club was no longer willing to accept the situation and it stopped insisting upon my recovery. I am sorry for Mourinho who argued with some directors in an attempt to convince them to deal with me."
