Flamengo president Eduardo Bandeira admits they miss Real Madrid whiz Vinicius Junior.

However, he insists Fla have not asked Real about taking the youngster on-loan in January.

Bandeira revealed to AS: "We tried for him to stay, but we could not compete with a team as big as Madrid. We are very happy for him, we knew that he would adapt quickly and in the Champions League he showed it again.

"We miss him terribly, clearly his absence is noticeable but I insist at the time we did not have the conditions to compete with Madrid. I hope that this changes and comes back in the future, although we have never asked Madrid for Vinicius to return in January."
