Former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft has questioned Chelsea's swoop for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.

USA international Pulisic will move to Chelsea at the end of the season.

And Fjortoft, who works as a Bundesliga pundit, believes there was more to the move than simply strengthening Chelsea's squad.

He told VG: "Evil tongues say that (Roman) Abramovich picked up Christian Pulisic from Dortmund to attract American buyers.

"Pulisic is American soccer's darling."
