With the year drawing to a close, the race of the Golden Shoe award for top goalscorer is as intense as ever.

The players who are in contention are Robert Lewandowski, Edinson Cavani, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane. Out of these players, Lewandowski has the most goals at 53.

Interestingly, it is Kane who has the best goals to game ratio, with 50 in 48. He is also the one with the most games left in the year, with Cavani and Lewandowski having none.

Of course, Messi and Ronaldo will meet each other at the El Clasico on Saturday.

Kane will need four goals in the remaining games of 2017 if he is to top Robert Lewandowski and finish the year with the Golden Shoe.
